Visa-Free Countries for Pakistani Passport Holders: August 2026 Update

Updated August 2026. Entry rules change without notice and depend on your purpose of travel. Confirm before booking — call +92 51 5194556-7.

The list of visa-free countries for Pakistani passport holders is short, it moves more often than most people realise, and it is widely misreported. This is the position as of the August 2026 update, with each destination in the right category — because “visa-free”, “visa on arrival” and “ETA” are three different things and mixing them up is how travellers end up refused at check-in.

Pakistan Passport Ranking 2026

Pakistan sits at 101st on the Henley Passport Index in the August 2026 update, having moved between 97th and 101st across the year. In total, Pakistani passport holders can reach 29 destinations without arranging a visa in advance: 11 visa-free, 15 visa on arrival and 3 with an electronic travel authorisation.

Visa-Free Countries for Pakistani Passport Holders

No visa needed before you fly, and none issued on arrival — you are admitted on your passport:

  • Barbados
  • Cook Islands
  • Dominica
  • Haiti
  • Micronesia
  • Montserrat
  • Rwanda
  • St Vincent and the Grenadines
  • The Gambia
  • Trinidad and Tobago
  • Vanuatu

Visa on Arrival for Pakistani Passport

A visa is issued at the border, usually for a fee, and usually on proof of onward travel and funds. Approval is not automatic:

  • Burundi
  • Cambodia
  • Comoros Islands
  • Djibouti
  • Guinea-Bissau
  • Madagascar
  • Maldives
  • Nepal
  • Niue
  • Palau Islands
  • Samoa
  • Senegal
  • Sierra Leone
  • Timor-Leste
  • Tuvalu

Cape Verde has been removed from the visa-on-arrival list in this update — a good illustration of why a list you saved last year is not safe to book against.

ETA Countries

An electronic travel authorisation is applied for online before departure. It is quick, but it is not optional and airlines check it:

  • Kenya
  • Seychelles
  • Sri Lanka

E-Visa Destinations Worth Knowing

Beyond those 29, a large number of countries issue an e-visa to Pakistani citizens entirely online, with no embassy appointment. These are often the best value trips to plan, because the paperwork is light and the approval times are short. Popular options include Thailand, Türkiye, Vietnam, Azerbaijan, Uganda and Malaysia.

Why These Labels Matter

The categories are not interchangeable, and the difference is where most avoidable problems start:

  • Visa-free still means meeting entry conditions — a return ticket, funds, sometimes proof of accommodation. It is not an automatic right of entry.
  • Visa on arrival can be refused at the border, and you are then flying home at your own cost. It also depends on arriving at a port that issues it.
  • ETA must be approved before you board. Airlines are fined for carrying passengers without one, so they check at the gate.

Rules can also differ by your purpose of travel. A destination that is visa-free for tourism may require a visa for business or paid work.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many countries can Pakistanis visit without a visa?

Eleven are fully visa-free. A further fifteen grant a visa on arrival and three use an ETA, giving 29 destinations reachable without applying to an embassy in advance.

What is Pakistan’s passport ranking in 2026?

101st on the Henley Passport Index as of the August 2026 update.

Is Maldives visa-free for Pakistani passport holders?

Maldives issues a visa on arrival rather than being visa-free. You still need onward tickets and confirmed accommodation.

Which is easiest for a first international trip?

For most of our clients it is an e-visa destination such as Thailand, Türkiye or Malaysia rather than one of the visa-free islands, simply because flights are direct or one-stop and far cheaper.
