Ground Transport in Pakistan
We arrange vehicles with drivers throughout the country — a saloon for an airport transfer or a day of meetings in Islamabad, a Hiace or Coaster for a family group, a four-wheel drive for the northern areas. For visiting delegations and corporate guests, the same driver stays with the party for the duration of the visit rather than changing daily.
Choosing the Right Vehicle for the North
The Karakoram Highway is metalled and comfortable as far as Hunza, and a standard vehicle handles it well. The roads that branch off it do not: Fairy Meadows, Deosai, Shandur, Khunjerab in shoulder season and much of Skardu’s surroundings need a proper four-wheel drive and, more importantly, a driver who has driven them before. Vehicle size matters too — a full Coaster is slow on gradients and awkward on narrow sections, and two smaller vehicles often make the better journey for the same money.
We will tell you honestly which vehicle your itinerary needs, including when a cheaper one is perfectly adequate.
Airport Transfers
Meet-and-greet at Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, with the driver tracking the flight so a delayed arrival does not mean a missed pickup. For late-night landings and for family members travelling alone, a pre-arranged transfer is worth considerably more than it costs.
Renting Abroad
Self-drive hire overseas is arranged through international partners. Two requirements catch Pakistani travellers out. The first is an International Driving Permit, which must be obtained before departure and is not issued abroad. The second is a credit card in the main driver’s own name for the security hold — debit cards and a card belonging to a spouse or relative are refused at most counters, and no amount of cash resolves it at that point. Minimum age, minimum licence-held period and cross-border restrictions vary by country and we will confirm all of them for your destination before you book.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I hire a car without a driver in Pakistan?
Self-drive is available in the major cities on limited terms and usually against a substantial security deposit. For the northern areas we recommend a driver without reservation — the roads reward local knowledge more than any other factor.
How far in advance should I book?
A day or two for a city transfer. Two to three weeks for northern-areas tours in summer, when the good drivers and vehicles are committed early.
Do you provide vehicles for weddings and events?
Yes, including multi-vehicle arrangements for guest transport.
Is the driver’s overtime charged separately?
Our quotes state the daily hours included and the rate beyond them, so there is no argument at the end of a long day. Ask for it in writing and you will get it.
