Three Different Things, Often Confused
Visa-free entry means you board with your passport alone and receive a stamp at the border. Visa on arrival means the visa is issued at the airport after you land, usually against a fee, and it is granted at the officer’s discretion rather than by right. An electronic visa is applied for and approved online before departure — airlines will often refuse boarding without the approval, so it is not something to leave until the airport. The three are frequently described interchangeably online, and confusing them is how travellers end up stranded at check-in.
What You Will Be Asked For at the Border

Practical Advice
Carry printed copies of your tickets and hotel bookings even when everything is on your phone — batteries fail and immigration halls have no charging points. Keep the arrival fee in clean, undamaged notes of the currency specified; torn or heavily marked notes are refused. Complete any online pre-registration well before departure rather than in the taxi. And be aware that a visa on arrival is a permission, not an entitlement: an officer may decline it, and if that happens you are returned on the next flight at your own cost.
